Our high school students, Victor and Kathy, were participants of the 8-week summer program this year. Victor performed SECCM experiments on organic battery materials and found their activities are influenced by the anions present in the electrolyte. Kathy studied the photoelectrochemistry of layered transition metal dichalcogenides and investigated the effect of polarized light excitation. It was a short, yet exhilarating  summer adventure in the world of electrochemistry!

2023 Summer Internship (ASSIP)

During June–August, our high school interns, Siddarth, Woojin, and Neha conducted summer research on 2D van der Waals materials in Yu Lab. They exfoliated 2D layers from bulk crystals, developed MATLAB code to identify individual atomic layers, and used our transfer system to construct microscale van der Waals heterostructures. Their samples were characterized with photoluminescence spectroscopy and made into electrochemical biosensors. It was an exciting summer of adventure and creativity!

2024 Updates:

Neha was admitted to Cornell University, Siddarth was admitted to Georgia Tech, Woojin was admitted to Cooper Union.
